This degree enables students to acquire knowledge linked to the world of employment (labour relations) from a highly legal (foundations of law, labour law and social security), as well as economic, psychological and sociological perspective.
Graduates in Labour Relations who register as active members of the Association of Social Graduates may advise and represent their clients in labour courts and tribunals, and lodge suits and appeals. They shall also be fully capable of making decisions from a multidisciplinary approach on employment issues at companies, public administrations and other types of organisations, such as unions or business associations, from a staff management perspective as well as in different political, economic and social contexts.
This degree is also aimed at graduates or students who are about to graduate in law. There is an accreditation scheme in place between the Degree in Law and the Degree in Labour Relations that provides a quick process for graduates in law who wish to specialise in labour and social security law.
The Degree in Labour Relations is a blended learning course and taught in the afternoons. There are five subjects per semester and ten hours of face-to-face classes per week. Students must invest up to forty hours per week in independent learning for the five subjects each semester, supervised by their lecturers on the Aula Digital platform. Where students work or have family responsibilities, it is advisable for them to enrol on a part-time basis.
What skills will you acquire?
Critical skills and abilities in interpreting legal texts and other relevant indicators in the fields of economics, psychology and sociology. The extremely high level of employability for the degree is above the UIB average (according to data from 2019, the employability rate for the Degree in Labour Relations stood at 97% - the highest for all UIB degree courses) and clearly demonstrates that this programme at the UIB Faculty of Law trains highly valued professionals.
What profile should you have?
The Degree in Labour Relations is aimed at students from any area of knowledge since it is enough to demonstrate the following abilities to take the programme:

What career opportunities will you have?
The Degree in Labour Relations provides useful wide-ranging training to aid graduate employment in the business sphere, although there are specific pathways for this programme, such as:
- Free practice of the profession (expert on labour relations). No master's is required.
- Civil service examination for public administrations - specific and general.
- Human resources at businesses.
- Employment agencies and consultancy.
