What is it made up of?

Industrial engineering encompasses the set of technologies, services, and applications that are needed in the industrial world.

What will you learn?

Students will learn how to design, specify, and analyse systems related to electricity, industrial electronics, systems monitoring, automatizing industrial processes, electric motors, energy, information, the design of industrial factories, etc.

What will you be able to do once you finish?

The Degree in Industrial and Automatic Electronic Engineering certifies students to work in the regulated profession of Technical Industrial Engineer. This programme is regulated by ministerial order  CIN/351/2009  of 9th February 2009 (BOE 20th February 2009). Professionals may carry out a wide variety of duties on the labour market, including:

  1. Designing industrial facilities and plants.
  2. Designing electronic systems.
  3. Designing and implementing automated systems (robots).
  4. Industrial facilities construction.
  5. Facilities operation and maintenance.
  6. Activity projects.
  7. Working in public administration (city councils, departments...).
  8. Marketing and sales duties.
  9. Expert advice (reports and expert judicial appearances).
  10. Working in public and private research, development and innovation departments for research into new technologies.
  11. Technical office: writing, signing off on, and developing projects in the field of industrial engineering (industrial facilities).
  12. Teaching (secondary school and vocational training, university).
  13. In addition, if graduates wish to take further studies in Industrial and Automatic Electronic Engineering, they may take the Masters in Industrial Engineering that certifies them to work in the regulated profession of Industrial Engineer. This programme is regulated by ministerial order  CIN/311/2009  of 9th February 2009 (BOE 18th February 2009).
