Dr María Vanessa Díaz Moriana
I am currently an Assistant Professor at the University of Balearic Islands (UIB) within the Department of Business Economics.
My research interest lies at the intersection of Strategic Entrepreneurship and Family Business, with a particular focus on how entrepreneurial family firms make decisions and eventually take action.
My research on family firms' Long-Term Orientation has been presented at the leading entrepreneurship and family business conferences and has also been awarded the prestigious Family Owned Business Institute research award in 2013, Best Doctoral Contribution Award in the 2014 Family Enterprise Research Conference and Best Paper Award in the 2015 Irish Academy of Management.
I joined academia with a strong industry background having worked as a Project and Operations Manager for Microsoft Ireland for over seven years.
