Dolores Tirado is professor in the Department of Applied Economics at the University of the Balearic Islands, UIB. She has a Bachelor's Degree in Economics and Business Studies (1992) from the UIB and a PhD in Economics (2003) from the same university.
Her teaching field is environmental economics and natural resources management and economic appraisal of projects. Teaching experience in undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate studies at the UIB. Co-author of various teaching materials edited by the UIB.
Her principal research interests include Water Economics and Policy, Applied General Equilibrium Models and Water and Tourism. Her work has been published in such as Water Resources Research, Economic Research, Journal of Environmental Management, Water, Sustainability and in several book chapters.
She has provided technical assistance to various administrations responsible for hydrological planning and has participated in several competitive research projects (national and autonomous) related to water management.
She has been vice-dean and head of studies of the Faculty of Economics and vice-dean and quality responsible of the Faculty of Tourism.
