The Library and Documentation Service of the UIB offers a collection of more than 450000 books, 1796 subscriptions to magazines, electronic subscriptions to 16223 magazines. We also dispose of various documents in other medium: microforms, videos, CD-ROMs, diskettes and magnetic tapes.

The bibliographic funds are catalogued in an computerized system, which can be consulted in the library computers, or from any other computer with an Internet connexion, in the following site: http://biblioteca.uib.cat/

There are seven libraries in the University Campus, one in Palma and one in each University Centre.

• Arxiduc Lluís Salvador: Tourism and Hotel Management
• Gaspar Melchor de Jovellanos: Law, Economy and Business, Labor Relations and Fund Chamber of Commerce
• Guillem Cifre de Colonya: Education, Psichology, Nursing and Physiotherapy
• Mateu Orfila i Rotger: Biology,Biochemistry, Physics, Chemistry, Science of the Earth (Geography)
• Ramon Llull: History, Art, Linguistics, Literature and Philosophy and Social Work
• Son Lledó: Old University Fund, from 16 th century to 1958; Library Casasayas; donations from: Antoni Pons Pastor, Camilo Cela Conde, Claribel Alegría, Coco Meneses, Joan Mascaró Fornés, Jocelyn N. Hillgarth, Josep Sureda Blanes, Miquel Gayà Sitjar, Miquel Morey Andreu, Nippon Foundation, Roland Fischer, Rosario Conde de Cela, Vicent Marin Gil.
• Sa Riera (in Palma): Partituroteca and Musical Documentation Centre.
• Eivissa: Law, Education, Economy and Business, Nursing, Tourism, General Fund and Reference Works
• Menorca: Law, Education, Economy and Business, Nursing, Tourism, General Fund and Reference Works

There are also some rooms and study cabins (rooms just for study, with no bibliographical materials or appointed staff):

• Guillem Cifre de Colonya: building C, first floor, reading room, 40 seats.
• Sa Riera: Ground Floor, former Library and Newspaper Library 200 seats.
• Gaspar Melchor de Jovellanos: 32 seats in collective cabins.

These libraries are open from Monday to Friday, from 8:00h to 21:45h during the academic year. During Christmas, Summer and Spring Break (Easter Holidays) these libraries will remain open from 8:00h to 14:00h.

The Campus Library services offer a WIFI system, which allows users to use wireless Internet through their personal laptops.

In order to request a book or publication, all users will need the University Card.
